Cozy days of Winter
The long-awaited guest had finally arrived as the year neared its end. Even the sun seemed to take a break from waking early. The days were short with long starry nights. The cold breeze surrounding wakes up the senses.
The cozy winter brought an invincible comfort. Waking up before sunrise and getting to work felt both bothersome and refreshing. Wrapped in woolen clothes, walking through the crisp breeze felt like living the lead character.
The sun was gentle and kind with its warmth. I wish every day could be this pleasant. As the night descended, its darkness felt like someone waiting to reveal untold stories. The melodies in songs evoke the imaginations of dream life.
Snuggling inside a thick blanket and sleeping for long hours felt like the richest luxury one could ever have. Winters in childhood hold a special place in heart.
The glimpse of memories feels like a fantasy movie. The stars above distant houses made me wonder if they were real. Christmas trees and Santa Claus gave the vibes of a wonderful world. The dark streets jiggled with lights and shops brimmed with dazzling gifts. Teddy bears welcomed children with a warm hug.
People waited enthusiastically for the clock to strike zero clock. The midnight on New Year’s Eve was a grand event with cakes and fireworks everywhere. Everyone celebrating the moment felt as if a new world would begin the next day. But when the day arrived, it seemed the same as every day except for a little hope for a better year ahead. The streets resembled greeting cards wishing everyone a happy new year.
Farmers rejoiced over their harvests and the village was filled with a festive atmosphere. Every home blossomed with the season’s marigold flowers. Colorful rangolis adorned doorsteps, while the sight of gangireddu with jingling bells mesmerized with their charm.
The Bogi fire brought people together young and old to gather around its warm glow. Those days festivals were celebrated in unity by sharing joy.
Now that the times have changed so has the climate.
Even then, I wish winter to remain as beautiful and comforting as it always has been.
