When Love Fades, Life Stays

Love, they say, is a beautiful thing,
A song the heart just longs to sing.
A promise, a bond, forever to last;
Until it fades, until it’s past.

Is love so noble, selfless, and kind?
Or just a bargain two hearts designed?
Built on comfort, shaped by need,
A little bit of fate, a little bit of greed.

They call it pure, they call it true,
Yet somehow, conditions slip right through.
If love is meant to stay and grow,
Why does it vanish when times get low?

A dream, a story, an endless chase,
An imagined warmth we long to embrace.
We crave to show it, to prove it’s real,
Yet reality bends to life’s own wheel.

The young adore it, they call it fate,
While the wise just watch and wait.
They know love drifts like passing weather,
And life flows on, with or without together.

But why, then, does the heart still ache,
When someone leaves, when something breaks?
Does every heart feel the sting of goodbye,
Or just the ones with time to cry?

On love, they built wars and rhymes,
Movies, music, and grand designs.
A world of illusion, a tale so bright,
Yet reality comes like morning light.

And when it does, all clouds fade,
The sky turns clear, no love parade.
The dream dissolves, and all that stays,
Is life, just life, in simple ways.
